Eilat- Journey to Biblical Red Sea and a shopping Paradise



Eilat is a place where visitors seem to have a great time and were children, in particular, tend to be blissfully happy. The turquoise-tinted waters of the Red Sea offer snorkeling, diving and swimming opportunities galore, and there are plenty of other attractions on offer, including an aquarium, a theme park, tax-free shopping and an array of outdoor activities showcasing the spectacular local desert scenery.

 Biblical Importance 

 Eilat is first mentioned in the Hebrew Bible in the Book of Exodus. The first six stations of the Exodus are in Egypt. The 7th is the crossing of the Red Sea and the 9th–13th is in and around Eilat, after the exodus from Egypt and crossing the Red Sea. Station 12 refers to a dozen campsites in and around Timna in Modern Israel near Eilat.

 1# Tax-Free Shopping - It is the only tax-free city in Israel. This makes it a paradise for Shopaholic tourist. There are a lot of big and small malls which offers brands from around the globe. You can also enjoy street shopping in Eilat Bazaar.
2# Share your fins with the Dolphins at Dolphin Reef- The shallow waters of Red Sea is a haven for marine creature where you can get a chance to fed and swim with the bottle-nosed dolphins.

 3# Relax on the Eilat beach - Eilat has some of the best beaches of Middle-East which cater to the global beach lovers. The spectacular view of  Aqua green water's refresh one's mind and soul.Here you may relax or tan or enjoy snorkeling. Some beaches are connected to hotels and have a lifeguard, others are quieter and more remote.
4# Explore the Underwater observatory in the Coral World - It offers you the opportunity to get closer to the marine life of Red sea.  6# Get Handy with a New Watersports: If you are looking for a kick then you should try your hands on water sports out of the available options (Jetboat rides, parasailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, water skiing, stand-up paddle boarding and suf surfing). There are plenty of companies that offer rental and training facilities.

 7# Visit the World's oldest Copper Mine- Timna Park -This is a beautiful park in the desert, just north of Eilat. It is home to the world’s first copper mine and with over 15,000 acres of land, there are plenty of trails to hike. The park is best visited with a tour or shuttle from Eilat.  (44 NIS per person)

 8# Hiking on the Eilat Mountain-  From inside the city, it is difficult to miss the towering mountains that surround Eilat. The Eilat Mountains Nature Reserve just outside the city is a great place to start your hike.

 9# Optional Tour to Petra - visit one of the new wonders of the world. Eilat is the perfect starting point for a tour to breathtaking Petra in Jordan. There are day tours and two-day tours that leave daily.

 How to Reach?

 There daily bus services by Egged bus from Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Beer Sheva.
One can hire a cab from all these above-mentioned destinations but the cost will be 5 times to 10 times more than bus depending on the type of car.

 Where to stay?

 Eilat is a commercial tourist destination so one can find lots of mid range to luxury hotels in the city premises. 
But if you want to add a unique ecotourism experience with Eilat city life than you may stay in the eco-hut in Kibbutz Lotan (55km approx/ 45 min drive). you will get a direct bus from the kibbutz to Eilat and return daily.

Unapparent Hieron - Aghanjar Mahadev Temple (Khanyara) - A must visit place for spiritual lovers!

    I n September 2020 , my husband and I moved only to Dharamsala (Himachal Pradesh) in the midst of this Covid-19 pandemic due to the purpose of his research work. We were blessed to see the real Himachal as a result of less crowds. A few days later,we thought of dining out and headed towards  Satyam Family Restaurant on the banks of the nearby Aghanjan River (Khanyara), which is known for quality food at a reasonable rate. It took us about 13 minutes by motorcycle to reach the location of  Satyam Family Restaurant  from Shyamnagar (Dharamshala) at a distance of 7 km.
